Q&A Session

Share Article

Wow! There have been so many good questions over the past few days! Thank you for getting involved with this post series! If you have a question after this Q&A just ask it in a comment or send me an email–I will host many more Q&As in the future! So here we go with the questions. . . . .
1. What is your favorite magazine(s) and why?
I love Focus on the Family’s magazine, Brio, because it is a Christian magazine that encourages me in my walk with Christ. It is designed specifically for teen girls and contains fashion tips, spiritual tips, fiction, and much more! Check it out at briomag.com

2. What do you plan on doing after high school?
Right now I am planning on attending a community college for two years and then transferring to a university–where that is, I don’t know yet! But I do plan on majoring in English and then going on to law school. I plan on helping churches by focusing on grant writing. I also want to help churches in their overall staff development, activities, counseling, etc. And I also want to write books!!

3. What is your favorite childhood memory?
I love our family vacations. Over the years we have gone to Sanibel Island, traveled along the East Coast and the West Coast, and gone out West. I love the memories that I have made with my family and the pictures that we have taken along the way! I would not trade those summers for anything in the world.

4. What’s your favorite way to spend a Saturday in the summer?
That’s a pretty easy one–laying out by the pool soaking up the sunshine!

5. Who is someone well-known that you consider a role model?
I greatly admire and look up to Shannon Primicerio. She is a well-known author and speaker. Her story is just such an inspiration to me! She published her first book, The Divine Dance, during college! Since then she has also published many more books including co-authoring a book with her husband.

6. What is your favorite Starbucks drink and why?
I honestly love any of their frappucinos, but my favorite would have to be the Caramel frappucino because I absolutely love caramel and I really like the caramel drizzle they put on the whip cream! Yummy!!!!

7. What kind of car do you drive?
Well, I actually am only getting my license this June! I could have already had it, but I have been somewhat of a slacker in practicing my driving! So once I have my license, I will be saving up all summer for four wheels!

8. How can I start my own blog?
Check out Blogger and they have three easy steps to creating your own blog. For a more detailed explanation, check out Hope Road’s series on how to create a blog at Hope Road,

9. What is your favorite website?

Incourageu, The Rebelution, Christa Taylor, and Mirror?.

10. What is your favorite TV show?
American Idol or Dancing with the Stars

11. What is your favorite movie?
The Gameplan, One Night with the King, Princess Diaries 1 &2, She’s the Man, Step Up, and The Inheritance.

12. Is there any secular artist or movie star that you think is a good role model?
I really like Jordin Sparks, Carrie Underwood, and Taylor Swift. I think that their lyrics are uplifting and a lot of fun to listen to. They also carry themselves with class and dignity. I also know that Taylor Swift is genuinely kind from when I met her at a concert and had the privilege of praying with her before her concert.

13. What is so important about being involved in a church or youth group?
Being a part of the body of Christ is vital to having a solid relationship with Jesus Christ. You need to surround yourself with other Christians who will support you and encourage you. When I am working out I like to have my Daddy with me. He encourages me to keep going even when I want to stop. That is what the church is there for. To be lifted up when you just can’t keep going and to lift others up towards Jesus as well.

14. Have you written any books?
What an interesting question! I am actually working on two projects right now. One of my books, Hiz Princess, is a small group curriculum for pre-teen girls that will help them discover their true identity in Christ. This curriculum is finished according to the “writing” stage, but now it is in the hands of the editors and publishers. The next project I am working on is an inspirational/devotional book entitled The Beauty Bias. I was actually inspired to write this book partly because of the reactions I received from you! I had a three-part series entitled “The Beauty Bias” and I received tremendous feedback about it. God has also laid the whole area of beauty and God-confidence on my heart. That is still in the writing stages, but I am excited to see how it goes. If you have any ideas for me or any stories you would be willing to share for the book, please let me know at [email protected]. Thanks you!

Thanks for all of the great questions! Feel free to keep them coming–you can ask about anything (blog appropriate please!) ranging from dating to school to God or friends or questions about me. I enjoyed reading your responses and I look forward to more!
